So far so good (part ix)

I had my consultation with my urologist this afternoon, and subject to my recent MRI scans continuing to show that my left kidney is no longer swollen, he’s happy to remove the stent from my kidney. He’s going to write a letter to my ‘main’ consultant to get that confirmation, and once he has it then I’ll get my date.

The removal will apparently be done under local anaesthetic, so it can be done almost “on demand”. Having said that, I’m not particularly looking forward to it, though the urologist tells me it’s no worse that being catheterised, and I’ve been through that a couple of times now with no real problems.

Still, it’s one less bit of unwanted medical paraphernalia inside me, which has to be a good thing!
